    It matters… it really matters.

    More importantly, it makes a difference in your classroom. Those routines and procedures you want to get in place… the behaviors you want to address… the paras you want to get more onboard. You won’t get anywhere without meaningful visual supports in your classroom. That’s the glue that holds everything together.

    Behavior, procedures, and routines are only part of what we deal with every day. In addition to managing a student everyday needs and individualized educational plans, we also have to teach our kiddos! It makes sense then that the most meaningful curricular items were Adapted Novels and meaningful math activities.

    And as if personal needs, individual plans, and academics aren’t enough, we are also responsible for getting students job ready. These vocational activities topped this year’s list and teachers are using them to make hundreds of students more work ready.

    I have also had the privilege of being in classrooms that have used these materials as part of work systems to do vocational prep for students with Autism. How can these make a difference in your classroom?
