Using Evidence-Based Practices to Improve Academics and Decrease Challenging Behavior
The session will start by breaking down the basics of Antecedent Based Interventions as well as the evidence that supports using this strategy for students with Autism.
Then we will talk about:
- Planning to use ABI for specific students
- Implementing ABI in the classroom
- Evaluating your ABI based on student data.
Finally, as we go through these sections, we will highlight target visual supports that reinforce our antecedent based interventions, including things like visual schedules, timers, and well-defined areas in the classroom.
This is a great session for teachers and paraeducators who want to learn more about a specific Evidence based practice that support students with Autism and most students with significant disabilities to be more successful in the classroom and reduce challenging behaviors.
